Well, after 7 months of getting to stay at home with the kids, I am back to work. I started today at Wells Fargo Financial as a Credit Manager. I really like the people I am working with and it seems like it will be a great job for me. This morning, however, was very tough. I think it is somewhat how I feel when the kids go off to school or something? The kids didnt seem to care much about leaving me, but I felt sadness rush over me today on my way to work. I am so pleased that our sitter Missi had openings so that the kids could go back to her for the 4 days a week that we need care. The kids LOVE her and she is great with them! Phoenix Children's Museum

Today I took the kids to the Phoenix Children's Museum! We had such a great time! There were all kinds of cool exhibits there for the kids to play with. There was a huge wall of tubes intertwined that had air blowing through them. The kids would put a scarf or soft ball in the tube and watch it go through the twists of the tubes and pop out the top! There was a huge "supermarket" for the kids to go shopping and checkout their items, as well as a kitchen to cook their meals in :) There was an arts and crafts center where they could paint or color different things. The kids both colored a few pictures. Thats just to name a few of the many, many cool things they got to do! Here are a few pictures of the kids adventures today :)

Yesterday was the kids friend River's Birthday party at the Tempe Splash Pad. They had such a great time! We played around in the water and went down the slides, then enjoyed some sub sandwich and yummy cupcakes :) Here are a few pictures.

Hey guys. Sorry I have not posted on here in awhile. The kids are doing great! We have been having so much fun at the pool lately. Brayden is doing SO well! He will swim around with his arm floaties on all by himself, jumping into the water and paddling to go get his toys. Brooke is my little fearless girl as usual. She has a swimsuit with the floaties in it and she will paddle around a little on her own and jump into our arms. They both just have a blast :) Its getting really hot here already, so its nice to have the pool as a little bit of a relief from the heat. Brayden is so funny! He says he is practicing his swimming to show Nanna Bakke when she comes to visit in July. He is so proud of himself :) Sorry I have not taken any pictures lately, but I will try to get some on here soon.

Yesterday we had Brooke's birthday party. She and the kids had a lot of fun running around playing on the playground. We enjoyed some grilled hamburgers and hotdogs that Nate made in the hot sun outside. (I guess we are finally saying goodbye to the nice spring weather) Brooke got all kinds of cute outfits and fun toys! Thank you to everyone for the nice gifts. She really enjoyed them all :)

Today is Brooke's 2nd Birthday and I can't hardly believe it!! Looking back at these pictures brings back so many fun memories. It sure has gone by so fast! She has quite the little personality on her. She is one of the most independent babies I have ever seen. She is perfectly happy playing off on her own without anyone by her side. Now that she is getting older, she and Brayden have become quite the best pals. They do everything together. (not always to Braydens liking) She is also starting to use her words to express herself so much more. Its funny the things she comes up with. She is also potty training and doing quite well! We are having a little family party for her tomorrow at our park. Its a "Hello Kitty" theme, Brooke's favorite :) Should be fun!

I just thought I would update you all on what we have been up to. I have been continuing my brothers boot camp and it has been awesome. I feel great! A new part of my body seems to be sore each day, So I think it is working! :) Nathan isn't too thrilled about being back on a "healthy diet," but its been good for the both of us.

I have also been reading the Twilight series and am totally consumed by them! I read the first 2 of the series this week alone. I am probably going to pick the 3rd up today. (I think Nathan has felt a little neglected because any free time I have had, I have been reading...) Only 2 more I keep telling him ;)

Last Friday we went to go and donate blood at United Blood Services. We had seen a very touching "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" a few weeks before and both realized how important it is to donate. Well, in the past I have not been able to donate because of my low iron, but surprisingly enough, I was good to go this time :) I was pretty nervous because I am very squeamish when it comes to needles. Talking about it now makes me a little on edge... but I did fine. Right up until my whole pint of blood was full. All the sudden this heat rushed over me into a sweat and I became all lightheaded and nauseous. It was scary! The technician looked at me in fright and hurried to do what he could to make me feel better. A few minutes passed and my blood pressure finally stabilized. Leave it to me to be the one to get sick... haha. Nathan wasn't able to donate because you have to wait a year after getting a tattoo and he had gotten his Twins one last June. So in June we will be going again. YAY lol

Friday night Nathan and I went to the Kid Rock concert at the Tempe Musical Festival. Its been windy and cold here!! But, it still was fun. Nate was happy that he sang some different songs that he had not gotten to hear live before. A few other bands were there. Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers and The Outlaws.

Saturday morning we went to Freestone Park to get our family pictures taken. The kids were... less than cooperative, to put it nicely. I am not sure what the deal was, but they were not liking the whole picture taking fiasco. We tried everything... playing by the water looking at the ducks, climbing on rocks and trees, but when it came time to take the picture they would not smile they would run away as fast as they could. Hopefully we got a few decent ones out of our 2 hour session. Jared, our photographer was so patient! I am grateful we were at least with him in a park, then in a studio. Things could have been much worse!

Boot Camp Week 1

As many of you know, my older brother Greg is a personal trainer and he is holding this 4 week bootcamp 3 days a week. He has been so kind to let me go. I feel great!! I went Tuesday, Thursday, and this morning and it has been the best workouts I have had in a looong time! Yes, I am a bit sore, and I am hating this dang healthy eating, but it will be so worth it come 4 weeks from now! I have yet to step on the scale and see if any progress has been made, but I know it has. I can already feel the difference! He has been having us do everything you can imagine from arms to legs to abs to cardio. A total body workout! I am so excited for Tuesday to come to get back at it!!! :)

Freestone Park

On Wednesday I took the kids to Freestone Park. We had a great time. It was a beautiful 85 degrees out and a little breeze blowing. We packed a picnic lunch and headed out there. We fed the ducks, played on the playground, rode the train that circles the park, and rode on the carosel. Brooke would throw all her bread right in front of her to try and get the ducks to come close, then when they would get close, she would chase after them trying to pet them. Silly girl. They both loved swinging at the park. It was cool because the swings were right next to eachother so I could push them both at the same time. Waiting for the train was not so much fun, but they loved it once we were on. They waved to everyone as they passed them in the park. Brayden kept shouting CHOO CHOO :) Then we rode the carosel, which was Brooke's favorite. She really loved riding on the horse. She kept kissing it and petting it. After all that we sat beneath a shaded tree and enjoyed some sandwiches, juice, and chips. It was a fun little outing for the 3 of us, and needless to say the kids had a great nap that day!

Yesterday we went to the Renaissance Festival. We had such a great time! Brayden was set on riding the Llama and he had so much fun! Nate took Brooke for a ride on the camel and they were all smiles. She kept trying to pet the camel as she was riding it. I tried to climb the rope ladder and fell 3 times. It hurt a little, but I am bound and determined to go back and do it! :) We enjoyed these HUGE tukey legs and chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick and bannana on a stick. Yumm! Nate also threw some knives and hit 4 out of the 5! All in all it was a great day. We didnt get to stay as long as we wanted or see everything because Brooke was a little fussy, but we definitely plan to go back and see some more :)

Grocery Store Catastrophe

Yesterday the kids and I went grocery shopping and normally I get one of the carts that has the car on the front of it for the kids to ride in and have some fun, but none were available. So, I got a normal cart, put Brooke in the front and had Bray walk with me. Well, Brayden is infamous for wanting to touch EVERYTHING. I told him if he was a good boy, and kept his hands to himself, he would get a treat when we were leaving. Well, for about the first 20 minutes he was doing really well, but when were nearing the end of our shopping trip he decided he was going to disregard what I had said and touch everything he walked by. I have always seen in the movies where children knock over big displays of things, and I freak out about that happening to me. Well, that is exactly what happened yesterday. I had stopped to get some meat and Brayden kept leaning against and touching this big tower of canned mixed fruit. I told him to stop. He did it again and the second time he did, all the cans came crashing down, scattering all over the floor! I was mortified. Everyone in the store stopped to stare, and of course Brayden broke out in tears. There I was trying to pick up and rebuild what must have been 50 cans of this mixed fruit. I couldnt believe that no one even offerred to help me. So, I finished setting all the cans in this, ugly crooked tower and we finished up our shopping. Brayden was quiet for the rest of trip and as we were getting in the car he puts his hands around my neck while I was buckling him in and says "I'm sorry mom. I wont touch the cans again. Please dont tell daddy." I just giggled. He was so sincere.

Today Brayden got major owies!! I feel so aweful! We were in his room which looked like a disaster hit it and he kept talking back to me about cleaning up the mess so I went to grab him to take him to time out and he ran away from me, tripping over blocks and fell face first, scraping his face on the board the blocks stick to. There was blood everywhere! This is what he looked like after we cleaned him up. Poor guy. I feel so bad. I know these things happen, but I still feel like its my fault. He just keeps saying that daddy is going to come home and give him kisses and hold him. Poor guy!

Last night we went to check on the kids before we went to bed and we found them sleeping together on their little couch! Silly kids! When I went back in to take a picture, Brooke was waking up, but it was still so funny. I dont know how in the world that can be comfortable, but I guess they just wanted to snuggle together?

Recently I have been taking the kids to the mall often because they LOVE to play in the little play area! They will run around for over an hour, then we will head to Barnes and Noble to read some new books! They ask me almost every day to go. Now that its getting nicer outside, I would rather take them to the outdoor park.

I could kick myself because this past weekend we had Nate's mom, brother and sister in law in town and I did not take a single picture! I dont know why, I guess we were just busy having fun. We had such a blast! Luckily Nate had Friday thru Monday off, so we got to spend quite a bit of time together. We enjoyed the nice temps in the 70's and 80's playing outside some basketball, sand volleyball, and dipping our feet in the freezing pool water! It was funny because they had to leave early Tuesday morning, so Brayden did not say goodbye to them and when he woke up he stared at the air matress in the family room and said "mom Jenny forgot her bed! We need to go take it to her!" haha he is so silly.

Today the kids and I got out some of the craft stuff and did some sponge painting. Brayden said "This is the toy Jason gave us for a present huh mom?" He is so funny! Jason and Aimee had gotten them these sponges for Christmas and he totally remembered!! Silly boy! He did Dinosaurs and Brooke did farm animals. Brayden and I also practiced our ABC's by sponging the alphabet. He is actually doing really well. He can remember what letters comes next...

After we were done with the painting we went outside and blew bubbles. It has been so nice here so we thought we would appreciate the day and play a little. It was so funny! Brayden would blow the bubbles away from him, Brooke would stomp on them, and Mojo would chase after them and eat and bark at them! Its amazing how long kids (and even puppies) can be amused by bubbles!

Lastly we did some sidewalk chalk. Brayden's favorite shape is the circle! He will draw circles all day long. It is so funny! They are actually pretty good circles too. Brooke just kind of ran around with the chalk in her hand watching what everyone else was doing. Anytime I would draw a shape or name, she would color on top of it! So silly :) Brayden was naming off everyone's names he wanted me to write and he actually remembered which ones were which!

Brayden is so So SO excited for his Uncle Chad, Aunt Jenny, and Nanna to come out and visit in a week! Every thing we do he says he is going to do with them, or show them! Its so cute!! :)

My Valentine's Surprise!

Nathan was so sweet for Valentines Day this year! He wouldnt tell me what surprise he had in store for the evening, just what to wear and the time. We dropped the kids off at my dads house for the evening and he drove us over to the Awhatukee area, I kept wondering what we could be doing? We pulled up and lo and behold, we had reservations at The Melting Pot! I was SOO excited! I had always wanted to go there before and I LOVE fondu! It was really nice and intimate inside. The hostess took us to our table and waiting there for me were these beautiful roses! They had this cute "lovers quiz" that we answered questions about one another at the table. We enjoyed a Cheddar Cheese fondu with bread and veggies to dip in it, an awesome ceasar salad, our main course an array of different sirlions and chicken and shrimp with dipping sauces and of course dessert the Chocolate/Carmel turtle dipping with strawberries, cheesecake and more! The food was awesome! They also took a picture of us at the table and framed it for us to take with us on the way out. It was the best date I could have imagined. Nathan really went above and beyond! I am so lucky to have such a thoughtful and loving husband! :)

Oh my goodness where to begin?! We left for San Diego bright and early Friday morning and arrived there a quick 5 hrs and 20ish minutes later! Boy did we have a great time!! Despite all the RAIN the kids were in good spirits!!

Brayden's favorite animals were the SHARKS! When we went back the 2nd day that is ALL he wanted to see! He didnt really care much to see the other animals... silly! Brooke loved the Penguins! We actually got to see them getting fed the 2nd morning we were there. It was pretty cool to see how they could force these big 'ol fish down their tiny little throats!

Of course we went to all the shows! Shamu was super impressive and the dolphins could sure jump high, but surprisingly to us, our favorite show was the Sea Lions. They were so funny and little sea otters joined them a few times. So cute! We also saw a 4D Sesame Street movie and a Pet/Dog Show that were pretty cool.

I am so glad that we got a 2 day pass because really we could not see it all in 1 day. The funniest part of the whole trip though, was the 1st day when we sat down to lunch. Brayden got a personal pizza and all the sudden a big Seagul swooped down and snatched it right off the table!! Brayden was devistated to say the least! He sat there for a good 15 minutes just staring at the bird with a sad face saying "the bird ate my pizza!" We tried to ask him if he wanted another one, something else? No response. Poor guy. haha (Sorry for all the pictures but we took 94, it was hard to choose them!! lol)

Today we went to this new park in South Chandler with Pappa Lake, Unlce Greg, Aunt Chelsea and cousins Abby and Maggie. I wasnt able to get a good picture of any of the kids. They were too busy running around enjoying the scenery. It was so cute the kids picked some flowers and ran up and down the trails together. The trails that we walked on were around a few man made lakes. The kids really enjoyed it; they got tired pretty quickly. It was a beautiful day out! Almost hot actually... I am so glad that we can get out with the kids and do this kind of stuff. YAY for Nates vacation :)

The kids and I went to the park the other day and had a great time! The weather has been so beautiful here. It truly does not feel like January!! Its why we live in AZ right? Brayden was being a little camera shy, I could only get a couple shots of him. They are growing up so fast.

I have been bad about updating this for the last few weeks. Truth be told, I havent taken any pictures to post on here. I was trying to post this really cute video that I took of Nate and the kids during storytime before bed, but I was having the hardest time...?

Anyway, the kids are doing GREAT! Brayden is becoming such a smart little boy. He will read along with many of the books we read each night. His favorite is "Chugga Chugga Choo Choo." I have been watching a few boys a couple days a week, and he is having so much fun with them! He is always asking me when his friends are going to come over.

Brooke is getting to be so big! She is catching up with Brayden in height! I think she is going to be a tall girl!! Volleyball? Basketball? I dont know! :) She is finally starting to get more brave with words.... Still not talking like I wish she would be, but I guess it takes time.

Nathan is working hard as usual to support us. He has been doing so well. This past weekend was a 4 day weekend for us, so that was nice! Unfortunatley I was sick for most of it, but being the great hubby he is, he took good care of me :)

Not much else going on with us... we are trying to plan a trip to San Diego here in a couple weeks :) We want to take advantage of a 3 day weekend Nate is going to have, plus we think the kids will really enjoy Sea World! I have never been, so I am pretty excited!

I cannot believe that it is 2009 already! Time sure flies the older you get it seems. 2008 was a pretty good year for us. Nothing too exciting to note, but we are grateful for everything that we have been blessed with and the chance to be together. The kids went down last night around 8 and we had a few friends over to help us ring in the new year. We watched a few movies and played the game "Catch Phrase" (which by the way is one of my favorite games :)) Its so funny to see how people think by how they try and describe these words. Well, a little after midnight the kids both decided to wake up again! We watched a movie in their room and finally they went back to bed. All in all it was a nice, low key, relaxed new years eve. Just the way I like it! I hope that the new year will bring our family and friends much happiness!! Love you all!

Today we had a wonderful Christmas! The kids woke up to see that Santa had visted. He brought them a play kitchen that they LOVED as well as some other small presents. After we got cleaned up, we went over to Pappa Lake's house to visit with Uncle Ryan, Great Gma and Gpa Lake, Uncle Tom, Unlce Greg and Aunt Chelsea, and cousins Abby and Maggie. We enjoyed a yummy ham dinner with some delicous sides. The kids had a blast opening their MANY fun presents! (Thank you so much to everyone for all of the wonderful gifts :)) Then the kids spent a few hours playing together with all their cool new stuff. It was so fun to see everyone. Some of which, we had not seen for about a year!! We hope that everyone had a safe and wonderful Christmas!

Today the kids and I made some hand puppets thanks to the awesome present that Auntie Aimee and Uncle Jason gave the kids for Christmas!! Brayden made the frog and Brooke the bird :) It was great because the kids could help a lot. They used the glue stick and I just told them where to put everything. Brayden has been bouncing his frog all around "RIBBIT!" and Brooke goes running after him with her birdie going "CACACACACA" haha

I walked into Brooke's room today to check on her and this is what I found :) She had her baby dolls lined up on diapers getting ready to change them. She is so funny! I love how she wants to be such a big girl and do all of these things!

So I need some advice! Nap-time has been a NIGHTMARE! Every day I swear it takes us at least an hour, if not 2 for the kids to FINALLY lay down and stop getting into their toys. I have tried laying them down a little later, seperate rooms, taking all the toys away? But they refuse to take a nap!! They need one becuase if they dont take one, they are trying to go to bed at 6:00 and are up at 4:00 am. That just doesnt work! Any ideas?? Anyone else have this problem? I honestly am at a loss. Let me know if you have any advice :) Thanks!!!

Feelin' the Holiday Spirit!

Yesterday a few of Nate's buddies came over and helped us Jazz up our Holiday decorations a little more. We found out that our apartment complex is having a contest for the best holiday decorations. 1st place gets $100 of next months rent! We had a lot of decorations from when we lived in a house, so we decided to hang a little more up. We also put "spray snow" and a snow man on our sliding glass door. :) I think it looks kind of cool.

Today we made some sugar cookies and Brayden helped me decorate them. He was so proud :) They arent the prettiest, but they taste pretty good!!

You know how every child is mischevious around the holidays and most "hunt" to try and find their Christmas presents? Well, I think yesterday Brayden topped what any child has ever done! I had wrapped all of the kids presents along with some for our family and hid them behind a rocking chair in our room. Brayden was taking a nap in our room yesterday and when Nathan went to check on him, he had unwrapped EVERY present including taking some of his presents out of the packaging!!! I was really upset at first because now Christmas isnt going to be so much a surprise for him, but now I just laugh! I really should have taken a picture!! :) Luckily, I really enjoy wrapping presents, so I wont mind re-wrapping them, but I COULD NOT believe what he had done! To say the least, he now knows the importance of waiting until Christmas (I hope!)

I of course helped them spell out their names, but Brayden was good about telling me what each letter was. Now they are running around and Bray is pretending he is Santa. So cute! :)

Minnesota Fun

The kids and I went up to Minnesota with their Pappa Bakke on Tuesday last week for Thanksgiving. Nathan, unfortunately, had to work so he was not able to come with us. Suprisingly, the kids were VERY good on the flights to and from! This was SUCH a relief! In the past it has been somewhat of an ordeal for us. The weather was actually very nice there. The sun was out shining and most days there was not much wind either. I believe the high while we were there was 35 degrees. No snow unfortunately. I would have really loved for the kids to get to play in the snow, but no worries. I am sure we will plan a trip to northern AZ this winter to check out the snow.

We got to visit with all of Nathan's family. His brothers and their families made the trip down to the farm so we got to visit with them and Brayden and Brooke got to play with their cousins Kate and Annika! :) It was so fun to watch them play together. They especially loved to play dress-up with them! Brooke would put on dresses, play high heels, flower headbands, and purses. It was very cute! Kate and Annika have grown and learned so much since our trip out there in June. It was so fun getting to see them.

We also went and saw a bunch of animals. Grandma Great had sheep on her farm that the kids enjoyed, and we went to their aunt Jenny's farm to see horses, goats, cows, a pony, and even some cats and dogs! They had a blast!!

And of course there was A LOT of yummy food! Nathans grandma (Grandma Great) spends much time in the kitchen! We had ribs, porkchops, chicken, scones, pancakes, and of course Turkey dinner!!! (with a lot of yummy sides of course) Also, Nanna Bakke (Nates mom) made some sugar cookies and the kids got to decorate them with icing and sprinkles. They had so much fun! :) It was a great trip. Brayden is already asking when we are going back. He says he misses Nanna and wants to go to see her tomorrow. hehe

Brooke's a BIG Girl!

Brooke went potty on the toilet for the first time tonight!!! YAY Brooke!! :) She followed me into the bathroom and stood in front of the potty training toilet trying to pull down her pants. I helped her take them off, then 2 seconds later tinkle tinkle!!! :) I am so proud of her!! She got a tootsie roll as a reward :) I cant believe that at only 19 months SHE is interested in the potty already!! We are excited!

So now that I am staying at home I have been trying to find things to keep me occupied (other than cleaning or shopping online) while the kids are napping... So believe it of not, I saw this on a show and thought I would try it. They are handmade Recipe books. I made a few, but only put this one on here. I put 3 tabs- Sides and Salads, Main Dishes, and Desserts. There are blank pages in between for you to put your recipes on. What do you think? I dont pretend to be good at scrapbooking. I always try, but I am one of those that Iwant to see the finished product too quickly, so it never turns out the way I hope that it would. Do you have any ideas on how I could make this better? Or know of any other fun projects or websites that can occupy some of my time? :) Let me know!

Wellness Check ups

The kids got their wellness checkups yesterday... Good news! They are both very healthy! :) Brooke is 32 5/8 in, 25 lbs 15 oz and in the 74% for her age. (Yes she has always been a big girl!)

Brayden is 38 6/8 in, 34lbs. 11 oz, and in the
51% for his age. He has always been around "average," if not a little small for his age :) Just thought I would share with you all!

Yay for Madagascar II!!

Last night we took the kids to see Madagascar II- Return to Africa. We took them on a Monday night because in the past when we have gone to movies, one of us is getting up with them taking them out of the theater because of their fussing and it was just a nightmare! We thought a Monday night would not be so busy, so it wouldnt be as bad. Well, the kids did GREAT! They both sat there eating their popcorn, graham crackers, etc. They sat through the entire movie with no fuss!! Brayden especially enjoyed the movie :) He said he wants to go do that again. It was funny because awhile back my dad, me, and my brother took the kids to see WallE at the theater and Brayden kept saying "like when pappa took me to see WallE mom!" He remembers EVERYTHING! Anyway, I was just so excited that this is something we can do as a family now :)

Deck the Halls

I know what you are thinking... it isnt even Thanksgiving yet. But Nathan and I truly LOVE the holidays! One of our favorite thing is decorating, so this weekend we decided to put up our tree, lights, stockings and other decorations. I just love this time of year. The baking, family, scent of yummy food in the kitchen. Its all so wonderful. We thought this way, it could last just a little longer :) We even got Mojo a little holiday sweater. Hopefully we will be taking our family photos soon and get those out to you all :)

Super heros

Brayden and Brooke were playing "super heros" this week... it was so funny to see them running around the house in their masks pretending they were on a "mission" as Brayden told me. Brayden was Batman and Brooke was Spiderman. Brayden would go outside on his scooter and say he was going on his motorcycle to his mission... it is so funny the things his little imagination comes up with! Brooke would just run around following Brayden. I love how they are pals and can play together like this! :)

Playin at the Park with Pappa

On Sunday we went to my dad's house and we took the kids to the park by his house. The kids had a great time!! Brooke really enjoyed these bouncy animals! She would bounce back and forth and bob her head. Brayden loved the swings! He said he was Spiderman! He was going really high! I was proud of him because normally he is pretty scared to do that kind of stuff. We saw this huge Great Dane at the park. The kids really got a kick out of it! I dont think they quite knew what to think of this big dog. The weather was beautiful, although a little overcaste. It ended up raining a little bit later in the day. All in all it was a great day :)

The kids have been growing and developing so much every day! I guess since I have been at home I get to notice all the little things now and I LOVE it! Brayden is curious about EVERYTHING! He really wants to know what everything is and how it works. He likes to take things apart and put them back together. He really has a creative little mind. Brooke is quite the little girl. She is really into baby dolls now. She rocks them and shh's us if she is trying to "put them to sleep." Its really funny. Other than that I have had a chance to work with Brayden on his numbers, letters, shapes, colors etc. He is doing pretty well. I got some cool stuff from a teacher supply store to help him. He knows his colors really well and he can count to ten perfect, but beyond that he has a little trouble. He bounces around in numbers... "12345678910....11 13 4.." haha Shapes we have been using our sidewalk chalk for, so that is a work in progress and letters he is doing pretty well. We have flash cards and workbooks that we focus on one letter each day.

Other than that, we are just baking yummy stuff for dad and spending some quality time playing and having fun. I am LOVING being a stay at home mom! I couldnt imagine spending my days doing anything else now.

Maggie Elizabeth Lake

My neice Maggie was born November 6th at about 8:00 am. She gets to share a birthday with her uncle Nathan! :) She was 7 lbs 2 oz and 20 in long (I believe...) :) She has beautiful brown hair and blue eyes... for now :) She really seems to be a good little baby. I got to go and visit her yesterday for a little bit. Of course she was sleeping most the time, but when she was awake she was a pretty happy little girl. Abby is a great big sister! She was holding Maggie and telling me how beautiful she is! I am so excited to be an aunt again! Congrats Greg and Chelsea! You have a wonderful family!

Trick or Treat

The kids had so much fun trick or treating last night. We went with my brother and his wife Chelsea and our neice Abby :) Abby was Cinderella. A very pretty one! Brayden was Spiderman, and Brooke was a lady bug. The kids did really well saying "trick or treat" and their thank-you's. I was surprised at how outgoing Brayden was, talking to all the neighbors. He is usually really shy around strangers. (It probably had to do something with the fact they were giving him candy!!)

My last day at Wells Fargo

Yesterday was my last day at Wells Fargo. We had a really fun day since it was Halloween and everyone dressed up. We had a doctor, an army boy, a convict, batman (his "little brother" attached to him haha) Batgirl, and I was Dorothy. It was so nice everyone brought their favorite dish for a pot luck (I ate way too much) and they all chipped in and got me some flowers, balloons, a nice card and some awesome gift cards so Nate and I can actually go out! :) I have really enjoyed working at Wells and I am going to miss each and every one of them!

Pumpkin Patch

Last night we took the kids to a pumpkin patch and they had a great time!! They got to pick out a pumpkin and decorate it with some stickers. They also got to bounce in a bounce house. Brooke went on a Tractor ride with me (Brayden was scared to) Then Nathan and I went and picked out some big pumpkins to carve! It isnt quite the ordeal of Schnepf Farms that we did last year, but this was much closer and a lot less expensive. All in all I think the kids had a great time! :)

Hensley Family Picnic at the Zoo

Today was the family picnic for Nathan's work at the Phoenix Zoo. Brayden got his faced painted like Spiderman, Brooke chowed down on some roasted corn and we walked around and checked out all the animals. The kids favorite exhibit was the Baboon exhibit. It was funny there was a huge daddy Baboon, Momma, and baby. The baby kept shaking this empty keg and the kids got such a kick out of it. Brooke of course loved the giraffe's too. She always loves to see them :) It was hot, but a fun time!

Fun at the Park

We went to the park today in our community. It was a blast! It was so beautful and breezy out. We shot some hoops, played around on the putting green, went down the slides, and the kids played in the sand! I am so grateful for this beatiful weather because there will be so many fun days to have outdoors!

Our newest Addition- Mojo!

Now that I am going to be staying at home with the kids, we decided to grant the kids wish for a puppy!! We got Mojo a week ago and he has quickly become their new best friend! He is a min pin, which if you dont know is a small dog. He will not get to more than 3-6 lbs. He is a sweet little snuggler and has his playful side as well. The kids have been doing great with him! Brooke is just so gentle and sweet giving him kisses and petting him softly, and Brayden likes to carry him everywhere with him and play with his toys.

Well, we are all settled into our new place and couldnt be happier!! It is so close to everything and we have been able to spend so much more time together. Nate and I can go home for lunches, and after I pick the kids up from daycare, we are home within 10 minutes!! What a relief! It has been getting beautiful here! Today the high is going to be 77 with a cool breeze. This is what we have been waiting for all summer!

The kids have been having a blast at their sitters house! Last week they made these cute Halloween Magnets that they were so proud of! Brayden has been working on his letter recognition, and actually doing pretty well. They also traced a leaf and Brayden thought that was the coolest thing! He just had to bring his leaves home, silly boy! All he talks about is his sitter and when we are going to go play again. I am glad he has taken to her so much, but it makes me sad that when I finally found a good provider, I am able to stay at home! :) Crazy how things work out.

Other than that, not much going on with us. Me and the kids are going with their pappa to Minnesota for Thanksgiving which we are SO excited about. Unfortunately Nathan cant get the time off work, so he will not be able to go with us. We will miss him, but we are so excited to go and visit family! We are counting the days!

Rusden Wedding

A couple weeks ago our friends James and Gretchen got married. It was beautiful! It was held up at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale. We enjoyed a scenic sunset and cocktails with an excellent dinner. I had the salmon, Nate had the Filet. And I actually got Nate out on the dance floor!! Congratulations to James and Gretchen! I know their marriage is going to be everlasting. They are a GREAT couple! :)

Makutu's Island

Last Sunday we took the kids to this place called Makutu's Island in Tempe with my dad (or as they call him Pappa!) It is a really cool place! Its this huge in-door jungle gym with all kinds of slides, tunnels and trees to climb. Brooke of course was very adventurous and wanted to run all over the place on her own, but Brayden was more cautious and hesitant. My dad helped him come out of his shell a little and towards the end was running around this big tree and having lots of fun! It was a great day and I look forward to when Brayden gets a little older it should be a lot of fun for him!!

Today I had the day off with the kids and we had so much fun goofing around that I thought I would post some pictures of it! I am not sure what Braydens silly face is all about... We made some paper tamborines and after we were finished went into the family room and blasted radio disney on the t.v. and danced around! Sorry!! Its been awhile

I feel really bad because it has been so long since I have done anything with this blog! I have been super busy! The kids started a new daycare this week and it is working out terrific! The lady that is watching them has been doing it for 6 years and has 3 children of her own. Plus it is only 4 miles or so away from our work opposed to the 50 extra miles we were driving each day with the other babysitter! It has been so nice because I actually get home with the kids around 6:30 and can make dinner and have tubby time and still time for myself! We are moving (yes again) Oct 1st about 1 mile from my work and walking distance from Nates. We need to start saving so we can FINALLY get a house! It will be so nice, we are really looking forward to it. That is about all the update for now, but I promise to be better about posting & I will get new pics on here soon. (By the way I know the post with Brooke's bday isnt showing like it should... its actually a slide show, if you click on it, it will show you in a different window. Sorry I am technically challenged!!)

Brayden turns 3!!!

Brayden turned 3 on July 19th and we had a little swim party for him. :) It was so fun, family came over and played in the pool. Brayden and Abby have such a great time together. They were really swimming well! We enjoyed some cupcakes and pizza and he got all kinds of CARS presents! (His favorite) He even got a big boy bed!!! I cant believe my baby is already 3!

Minnesota Trip

We went to Minnesota in June to visit Nathan's family and had SO much fun!! We went to stay with Nathan's mom and grandma down at the farm and his brother Jason, wife Aimee and girls Kate and Annika joined us! The cousins had SO much fun playing together and seeing the animals and playing outside. Then we went back to the cities and stayed with Nathan's brother Chad and wife Jenny and got to spend all kinds of time BBQing and having fun :) It was such a blast getting to see everyone! It was funny Brayden followed Kate around everywhere she went. They were best pals. Now he is always asking when we can go visit again

Brooke's 1st Birthday!

Our baby girl Brooke Madison turned 1 on April 17th!!! We had a princess party for her on the 19th! It was so much fun! Nate's mom and my mom flew in for the occasion. Unfortunately many of us were sick, so it made tough to enjoy as much, but Brooke sure had a great time! I cannot believe how quickly this last year flew by! Brooke is learning so much everyday!

Climb for Cancer

Last saturday Nate and I did the Climb for Cancer at Point South Mountain. It was such a beautiful day out! We did the 5 mile hike up the mountain and enjoyed the scenery every step of the way! There were so many people out supporting the cause! We were walking for the Wells Fargo Gilbert Team for my work. People even were bringing their puppies along to help support!

I have not posted anything on here in awhile. There really has not been much going on with us. Brooke is 9 months old now. It is so weird to think my baby will be a year old in a few months. She is so incredibly active now and eating all kinds of food. She has 7 teeth now! (3 just barely poked through) Brayden is just a busy boy. He is starting to talk so much now. He really has a mind of his own though. I always tells us what he thinks and how things are going to be... (little stinker!) Nathan is still working at Hensley and conutinues to lose weight. I am at Wells still... still same old thing. I actually went yesterday to a Make a Difference community service project in phoenix. We were able to paint the entire exterior of a home of a family in need. It was so nice to get out and serve the community like that.

World of Wheels Car Show

Last weekend we went to the "World of Wheels Car Show" at University of Phoenix Stadium. It was pretty cool. They had the actual camaro from Trasformers movie there and Nate and Brayden got their picture taken by it. They also had a life-size replica of Lightning McQueen from the movie Cars. Brayden had a really good time. We went with my dad. He really enjoys looking at all the cool custom cars as well, so it was fun for all of us.

This month has been so crazy I think that this is the first time I have gotten to sit down for a minute without having to do anything else. Nates brother Chad and his wife Jenny were here at the beginning of the month visiting us and the kids. It was so fun to get to relax and spend time with them! Nate got into an accident with the Neon, he is ok, but the car... not so much! The cool thing though is now we have an 06 Chevy Cobalt that I love! Then my mom came into town for a weekend, we went bowling. The kids had a lot of fun! She got Brayden and Abby these little computers that they went nuts over! So cute! Hmm... so now here comes Christmas! I didnt even put a tree up this year. I feel bad, but it has been so hectic! I got a promotion to be a Service Manager 2 at a traditional location off Ray & McQueen. I start there officially Jan 2nd, but I have been over there a lot helping out. I have been averaging 55-60 hours a week! I am EXHAUSTED! I love this time of year, but I will be glad when everything settles down. We actually ran out of money at the bank yesterday! I was cashing checks and giving out 5's and 1's!!! It was ridiculous!

It has been a long time since I have posted anything on here... a lot has happened since then! Nate's mom has been in town from Minnesota for the past week for Thanksgiving, so it has been really nice getting to spend time with her. Brayden absolutely loved all the food we ate on Thursday! He is just busy running around as usual. Brooke is getting so big! She has her two bottom teeth now and is crawling like crazy and pulling herself up and standing up now. I hate that she is growing so fast! But it is a lot of fun.

Brayden accidentally broke our laptop yesterday. He was upstairs playing with his cars (we thought in his room) but he was actually playing on the desk and smashed a car in between the screen and the key board. Now our screen is broken in different peices! (Hopefully it is covered under the warranty!) So needless to say, we will not be able to email a whole lot for now until it gets fixed...

Kid Rock Concert

We went to the Kid Rock concert last night and it was awesome! We really love his new album. He has a few ballads on this CD that I am sure will be classic songs years down the line. We had ok seats, but were kind of at an awkward angle. As he was getting into his 2nd or 3rd song this girl approached us and asked us if we wanted to go sit up front! We were like "heck yes!" It was so awesome! We were literally 3 rows from the stage! There was this little boy in front of us that actually got his attention and later in the show, Kid threw him one of his drum sticks! Pretty cool! He sang a few of his popular older songs, but we were happy because he mostly sang from his new album! It will be a night that we will never forget.

I was off on Monday, so I thought I would work with Brayden a little on his potty training. He ended up going potty 3 times that day on his "big boy toilet!" He is so funny, he waits until I leave, then he will go. He gets nervous if we are standing there. He of course had to talk to Nanna and let her know all about it :) Such a cutie. It will be so nice once he is out of diapers for good!

Schnepf Farms

Last night we went to Schnepf Farms. It has this little festival going on this time of year. The kids had so much fun! Brayden and Abby got to ride on the ponies! Abby seemed like a natural little cowgirl! I was surprised at how much Brayden enjoyed it. I thought he may have gotten scared. It was hard to capture a good shot because they were going around pretty fast!

I think Brayden's favorite part of the night was getting to pet and feed the goats! One was jumping up on me and eating my shirt! They did the same to Chelsea and Abby. I think Abby got a little scared though.

The food was great there! We had chilli and pulled pork sandwich and fresh corn on the cob! It was all so yummy! Nathan bought this HUGE bag of kettle corn! I have no idea how he is going to finish the whole thing.

At the end of the night we took a tractor ride out to their 10 acre corn maze that from the sky is a picture of Steve Nash. We didnt end up going through the maze because the kids were getting very tired, but supposedly they had some deer at the end of the maze that would eat out of your hands. As we were driving home we even got to enjoy a fireworks display light the sky.

It was a lot of fun, I really want to make it an annual tradition from here on out.

Our 2nd Anniversary

Nathan and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary on the 29th. He took me to a place called "Shabu Fondu." We love it! We enjoyed a few drinks and some GREAT fondu! They have this awesome cheese fondu there that we dipped veggies and bread into. For dinner, we enjoyed sirloin with a teriyaki dipping sauce. For Dessert I enjoyed the chocolate fondu. Nathan just had the cheesecake. hehe :) Nate's dad watched the kids for us. It was really nice to get away for a nice dinner.

DBacks vs. Cardinals

Nate and I got to go to the Dbacks game about a month ago. It was so fun! We got some awesome seats from a guy Nate works with. They were right on the dugout box on the first baseline. It was pretty cool being so close to all the players.

We went over to my dad's house last weekend to see my cousin Chrissy who flew into town for the week. It was so cool to see her. I dont think I have seen her for about 5 years!! The kids were being so cute! It was beautiful outside. Abby and Brayden were riding around in the backyard in a wagon. THEY LOVED IT!! (despite brayden's face...) I thought this picture my dad took was so cute!

We are VERY excited because Brooke cut her first tooth on Saturday!!!! I would post a picture, but it has barely come through so we will post one when you can actually see it in a picture! So exciting!

Brooke has been trying to crawl for about a week now. She is so funny moving back and forth! Brayden never did this, so I just thought it was the funniest thing!

Brayden has been talking so much lately! He is really becoming such a little boy. It is so fun to play "pretend" with him. He also really enjoys coloring and things like that now.

So we thought we had the house by the lady that watches our kids, but come to find out someone had "snagged" it up before we could. I was not all that upset because we found a BEAUTIFUL brand new home in Mesa, so it all worked out for the best! :) We are FINALLY done with all of the moving. Now I will just be happy to get unpacked and organized!

We have been at the same house in Gilbert for 2 years now ever since we got married. Nate and I literally moved into this house the day after our wedding... So our 2 year anniversary is coming up and here we go again! We actually found this perfect house just a few doors down from the lady that watches the kids for us a couple days a week. It should work out pretty good. It is in Spectrum at Val Vista, a super nice neighborhood off of Pecos Rd. and Val Vista Dr. So we are pretty excited, but not looking forward to the actual moving part of it!
